Our polished 100% hemp twine is from Eastern Europe. Hemp is softer
and contains more natural oils than other fibers, making it more
flexible and resilient. Hemp twines are created by twisting 3 plys of
hemp fiber, then polishing them with a mixture of paraffin. The
polishing makes twine smooth but still leaves a few stray hairs and
slubs for that desired "natural" look.
Imported natural fiber products are, by nature, inconsistent in size
and strength. Allow for 30% variation in diameter and up to 15%
differential in yield. Also, colors may vary between dye lots. |

Our hemp cords feature 3 plys of twisted hemp. Each ply is polished with a
mixture of paraffin, then twisted together and polished again with the
paraffin mixture. Thus rendering this style the smoothest and least fuzzy
hemp. Hemp cords tend to have a more consistent diameter and are a bit
stiffer than hemp twine.
